Maurice (67), from Archiestown, who has learning difficulties, wanted to thank the charity which has given him support over the years.

Accompanied by support worker Ellie Sharkey from the Inspire charity, Maurice walked seven miles from Elgin to Lossiemouth.

Maurice sported a colourful punk rocker wig to brighten up his effort.

Anne Speak, of ENABLE Elgin, which provides support to adults with learning needs, was there to support Maurice and Ellie.

“Maurice had his collecting tin with him, and people were very generous. He would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to everybody who helped. We will be giving him a framed certificate to mark his achievement.

“We have had some problems with our mini bus, and Maurice wanted to raise some money towards the repairs.”

His walk raised £363.87.
