OLDER people in Craigellachie are being offered another chance to set up their own Be Active Life Long (BALL) group.
A second free taster day of Moray’s BALL groups is to take place on Thursday, May 1 in the village hall, from 2-4pm.
It follows on from a similar event held earlier in the year when villagers were able to find out about the BALL network which promotes health and wellbeing to the over 60s.
Assistant community care officer Wendy Strachan from Moray Council’s older people’s development team will provide initial support to help the Craigellachie group find its feet.
She said: “We are having another free taster day for anyone to come along to Craigellachie, to see if we can capture more numbers, as the members who attend really enjoy it.
“The BALL groups provide friendship, choice and activity which encourages older people to stay active in their communities for as long as they choose. Regardless of a person’s fitness or ability they will be able to participate in all activities.”
Places are free but must be booked in advance to allow for planning and catering purposes. To reserve a place, contact Wendy on 01343 567093 or e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
