Everyone's hard work on bypass is appreciated

Sir, - I wish, through your 'Letters' section, to pay my respect and extend my gratitude to everyone involved in the long-awaited Fochabers-Mosstodloch bypass.

Having seen countless lorry loads of supplies pass me for many months, I am able to appreciate the hard work done by all the workmen involved. There has been, in my opinion, minimum disruption to the flow of traffic over the months, which I assume took a lot of forward planning.

The crossing of school children and other pedestrians is now much safer due to the decrease of heavy traffic.

I have also been pleasantly surprised by the amount of cars still coming into Fochabers to use the shops. Lorries have even been tempted to stop in the village, knowing they can park at the shops and not cause instant tailbacks in both directions.

Many thanks to all. - Yours etc,

Lesley Spangenberg

School crossing patroller,

Fochabers.
