LOSSIEMOUTH is to receive £23,650 towards the cost of harbour repairs.
The Scottish Government revealed the funding as part of a £1 million package for storm-affected communities.
The money will go to the Lossiemouth Marina Company for damage caused by the storm on December 15.
However, Moray Council has yet to hear if it will get anything towards its own £750,000 repair bill for damage to a sea wall in Lossiemouth and adjacent children’s playpark and footpath, as well as other storm-related costs across Moray.
The Scottish Government announced over the weekend that Wick, Balintore, Lybster, Portmahomack, Peterhead, Lossiemouth and Dunbar are to receive financial support.
The cost of damage at Fraserburgh Harbour is also being assessed.
Environment Secretary Richard Lochhead said: "To do our part, the Scottish government has been working closely with the local authorities and agencies to assess the full impact and I would like to thank all those involved for their hard work.
"This funding will go towards vital walls and piers and ensure the harbours will be repaired as quickly as possible."
