MORAY motorists are being advised on resurfacing works being carried out on the A96.
Improvements costing over £90,000 will begin tonight at the Blackhall and Inverurie roundabouts
The work involves resurfacing the entire carriageway on both roundabouts, with Blackhall first.
For safety reasons a 10mph convoy system and temporary traffic lights will be in operation during working hours.
Resurfacing will take place each from 7.30pm until 6.30am the following morning and is expected to last for a total of six nights.
There will be a requirement to close Blackhall Road, Elphinstone Road and B993 Kemnay Roads for short periods during the works at both roundabouts with diversions to allow the areas to be resurfaced beyond these roads.
Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s north-east representative, said: "We’ve scheduled the works to take place overnight to minimise disruption. Our teams will look to do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible.
"We encourage road users to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date journey information and leave extra time to complete their journey and follow the diversions."
Real-time journey planning information can be obtained by visiting www.trafficscotland.org or twitter @trafficscotland.
The work is being carried out by Breedon Aggregates Ltd, and WJ on behalf of BEAR Scotland.
