A SPEYSIDE butcher has the best black pudding in the country.
GC McIntosh on Dufftown’s Fife Street clinched the 2014 Scottish Black Pudding Champions.
They were announced as winners at a ceremony in Perth, after succeeding in the north heat.
The regional champions were all mystery shopped, with the puddings brought together before a panel of connoisseurs for a taste test.
All the sausages, haggis and black puddings at the Dufftown butchers are made by Bunty Campbell.
Bunty, from Glenrinnes, has spent 30 years perfecting her skills and this week declared her apprenticeship had finally been served.
Her creation was judged the best of 80 different makes from across Scotland
Bunty said the secret of her success was technique and attention to detail, and declined to reveal any special ingredient.
Proprietor Gordon McIntosh said the black pudding had always been popular with customers and expected sales to go up following the win.
He added: "We are really pleased to have won and especially pleased for Bunty."
