Body recovered from Moray river

A MAN’S body has been recovered from a Moray river.

Officers from Police Scotland were called to the River Lossie, at the northern edge of Elgin’s Cooper Park, this morning (Thursday).

A spokesperson for the force said: "Police Scotland are currently in attendance at the Cooper Park in Elgin after receiving reports of a man’s body being discovered in the River Lossie at around 7.30am this morning.

"The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are at an early stage to establish the full circumstances."

A section of the central park remains closed off as investigations continue.
