Police Scotland are appealing for witnesses following two separate thefts of tools in Buckie.
The first crime occurred between Wednesday, November 15 and this Wednesday past at the Mill of Buckie. An orange coloured MBW compactor was stolen which is valued at more than £1000.
The second took place between 5pm this Wednesday and 6.30am yesterday in the Douglas Crescent area.
A Nissan Van was broken into and a green and blue box was stolen containing a red and green Makita drill, batteries and drill bits, with a a total value of about £500.
Inspector Neil Campbell said: "Now that we are into the dark winter nights, I would urge the public to ensure that houses, vehicles and any property of value is locked and secured, and anything of value placed out of sight to prevent opportunistic thefts occurring.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious or untoward in these areas at the relevant times, or has been offered the items for sale can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 0380 of November 22.
