WITNESSES are being asked to come forward after a car was broken into at Lossiemouth.

The vehicle was situated near the old railway line crossing by the town’s cemetery on the B9103 road that leads to the A96, at around 4pm on Sunday, July 13.

A satellite navigation system and a low three figure sum of money were among items taken.

Police are keen to hear from witnesses including anyone who may have seen a man in the area at the time.

He is described as 5ft 7ins tall, of slim build and wearing a light or white hooded top with blue detail on the front and blue denim jeans.

Investigating officer Constable Johnathan Menzies said: "I would like to remind the public to ensure sat-navs and other items of value are removed from open display within vehicles when left unattended."

Anyone with information should call Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
