THE clear up is beginning for those hit by yesterday’s flooding.
A team from Moray Council is in Dallas today, which was the worst hit area in Moray.
The village was cut off as flood water and a land slide blocked roads.
Several homes were under water as the main street was turned into a torrent following hours of heavy rainfall.
The local authority team will arrange for ruined floor coverings and other items to be taken away and will give assistance and advice as well as distributing leaflets with useful information on how to deal with the aftermath of flooding.
A rest centre set up in Elgin high School was stood down at around 9.30pm yesterday, when the threat from the Rover Lossie subsided.
Most people decided to return home although two families - including one with a baby - were put up in bed and breakfast accommodation.
Many of the flood warnings issued by SEPA yesterday have been withdrawn.
However, alerts are still in place for Aberlour, Boat o’ Brig, Broom of Moy, Craigellachie, Forres and Spey Bay.
