A PLANNING application for the proposed western link road in Elgin is due to be unveiled next week.
If approved, the proposed £8 million road will link Edgar Road with the A96 on the western outskirts of Elgin.
A Moray Council spokesman said that the planning application is expected to be validated and on the Moray Council website (www.moray.gov.uk) some time next week.
"Once it is validated, people can view the detail online and submit comments. Full details on the application will be issued as soon as it is validated," said the spokesman.
Opponents of the controversial link road plan have criticised both its cost, and elements of the route itself.
Those in favour of the project have said that the road is an important step to ensuring the prosperity of Elgin and its future traffic management.
