JOBS, bus services and libraries will all be cut if Moray Council’s administration’s budget is voted through next week.
The biggest cash-saving measure will see the number of classroom assistants slashed – which is expected to save £410,000 a year.
There are around 150 assistants employed by the local authority. It is estimated over a third of them will be axed. Mums and dads, angered over the proposal, are staging a protest outside the council headquarters on Wednesday as the budget talks play out.
A total of 75 full-time jobs are expected to go across departments, from trading standards to legal services.
