MORAY Council has defended itself against criticism following the introduction of new parking restrictions at Elgin’s Cooper Park.
The local authority has this week described the parking arrangements as a "positive move" to improve user access to the library and to the park.
According to the council, the new regulations will reduce all-day parking. From Monday to Saturday inclusive, between 9am and 5pm, parking will be limited to three hours.
The changes have prompted some criticism.
Two weeks ago, Donnie MacDonald, the president of the Cooper Park Bowling Club, said the newly introduced double yellow lines and three-hour parking limits were "totally unacceptable" and would cause considerable problems for members.
