COUNCILLORS will discuss the future of the road network within Moray’s largest town.
On Wednesday members will decide on whether to approve the Elgin Transport Strategy which, if implemented, could see the widening of footpaths and cycle lanes, junction improvements, redesign of the bus station and the creation of a new railway crossing for vehicles.
The recommendations within the strategy are split into short, medium and long term plans, and are designed to develop the network in line with the expansion of the town.
Public drop-in sessions, questionnaires, social media and stakeholder consultation events were all used to gather feedback from those who travel within or through the Moray capital, as well as from developers and community bodies.
The meeting will be broadcast live from 9.30am via the Moray Council website, and the draft Elgin Transport Strategy is available online.
