A YOUNG man has died while on remand at HM Prison Inverness.
Ryan McNeil (19) had been remanded for a charge of assault to severe injury and permanent disfigurement at Elgin Sheriff Court.
He died on Saturday, the Scottish Prison Service has confirmed.
The Police have been advised and the matter will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
A fatal accident inquiry may be held in due course.
