MAINTENANCE works are scheduled to take place from next week on the A96 Alexandra Way underpass in Elgin.
The works will involve upgrades to the existing pedestrian facilities in the underpass, including replacing parapets and handrails with new steel versions.
The underpass provides a link for pedestrians between the bus station and Cooper Park, shops and Elgin library, and the improvements will help ensure that the underpass continues to operate safely.
The maintenance work will get under way from Monday for up to three weeks.
The underpass will remain open to pedestrians throughout the improvements but temporary safety barriers will be in place. The A96 will not be affected.
Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s North East representative, said: "These essential maintenance works will ensure that the Alexandra Way underpass continues to operate safely for all pedestrians."
