A SPEYSIDE village has achieved Fairtrade status.
Aberlour is the first community in Moray to reach the milestone.
The Fairtrade mark ensures that producers and growers in the developing world get a reasonable price for their goods.
Maureen Anderson, chairman of the steering group, said: “We started the campaign about as year ago with the steering group made up of representatives of both schools, Aberlour Primary and Speyside High, the business association has been quite involved, the community association, the Scouts, the parish church and Moray Council.
“It really has been a whole community effort, which has been really exciting and rewarding.”
