VANDALISM in Moray has fallen by almost a third in two years.

Between January and April, incidents dropped by 30.5% compared to the same period in 2010.

Grampian Police has credited the decline to the introduction of community-focused locally based police teams.

Superintendent Mark Cooper, divisional commander, said increased levels of cooperation between residents and officers had helped contribute to the fall.

See Friday’s ‘Northern Scot’ newspaper for a breakdown of vandalism statistics across the Moray area.
