MORAY has a finalist in Scotland’s ‘Cultural Oscars’.
The Findhorn Bay Festival is in running to be named the Cultural Event of the Year in the Sunday Herald annual awards.
The awards aim to recognise the very best of Scotland, with honours presented in fifteen different categories.
Among the individuals nominated this year are Ewan McGregor, James McAvoy, David Tennant.
While Findhorn Bay Festival has reached the final of the cultural event category alongside such big names as Celtic Connections and Belladrum.
Findhorn Bay Arts director Kresanna Aigner said: “The whole team are thrilled. Just to be a finalist and recognised nationally is fantastic for promoting Moray as a go-to cultural destination.”
The winner will be revealed at an awards ceremony on Thursday.
The festival is staged every two years in and around Forres and Findhorn Bay.
Last year it attracted more than 13,500 over its six days, contributing an estimated £875,000 to the local economy.
The next Findhorn Bay Festival will take place in September next year.
