FORMER Moray Councillor Sean Morton has pled guilty to the possession of indecent images of children.
Morton, who previously represented Fochabers-Lhanbryde ward for the Labour Party, appeared at Elgin Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
Morton had tendered a plea of not guilty at an early court appearance but defence agent Laura Greer said that the case was led to a resolution following the disclosure of a further computer report 10 days ago.
Fiscal depute Alison Young said four images of girls aged 10-15 years-old, dated November 11, 2013, had been found on an Apple MacBook computer in a back-up file from iTunes.
In the iTunes back-up file there were also three images of men and women engaging in sexual intercourse with a dog, Mrs Young told the court.
Sheriff Chris Dickson placed Morton on the sex offenders register and deferred sentencing for the preparation of a criminal justice social work report and a psychological assessment.
He will next appear in court on January 11.
