THE new owners of a Moray fuel supply firm have outlined expansion plans.
Jane and Stephen Scott have a three year plan to grow Elgin-based Gleaner Oils.
Brian Young, whose father founded Elgin-based Gleaner Oils in 1954, has sold his 50% stake in the business to his niece, Jane Scott, who already owned 50% of the business, and her husband, Stephen, for an undisclosed sum.
The new owners want to expand the business organically and possibly by acquisition, and to increase the geographical footprint with a further move into the south of Scotland and north of England. The expansion includes plans to recruit around 20 additional staff.
The company has been a major employer in the north of Scotland for many years and has an annual turnover of £125 million.
Mrs Scott said: "We have enjoyed consistent growth over the years and, strategically, are very well placed to take advantage of new opportunities. We supply a wide range of products across different markets – including agricultural, domestic, industrial, marine, petrol and LPG - and have around 16,000 regular business customers."
