AS a tribute to her late father, a Moray woman has appeared on TV game show Deal or No Deal.
Louise Gott’s bid to win £250,000 on Noel Edmonds’ show by opening a series of boxes is screened on Channel 4 this Sunday afternoon (3.20pm).
The former Northern Scot advertising rep, who lives in Lossiemouth, said her dad Mick urged her to go on the programme while he was battling cancer from his hospital bed eight years ago.
“I remember he explained to me there was this new programme with Noel Edmonds and all you have to do is open a box and they give you money,” Louise revealed.
“Even you can do that, he told me. I’ve got no ambition to be on television whatsoever and I would never have applied if it wasn’t for my dad.
“He used to say to me ‘One day when you get on, this will happen and that will happen’. So for me, actually doing it was like living the dream.”
Louise (31) has been appearing on the show all week as one of the box openers, but her big moment when she goes for the cash herself is featured on Sunday’s show.
Her local Steamboat pub is throwing a party to mark the occasion, with regulars joining Louise in the bar to watch her show, which was filmed in Bristol last November. Originally from Middlesbrough, Louise’s family will be holding a similar celebration in her home town at the same time, hosted by her mum Pauline.Full story in next week's Northern Scot.
