AN EXERCISE involving around 1,500 troops will get under way in Moray later this month.
Exercise Joint Warrior will run from March 25 to April 15 across the north of Scotland, and Kinloss Barracks will be one of the main centres of activity.
There will also be a substantial amount of fixed wing and helicopter flying. The airfield at Kinloss Barracks, Lossie Forest and Miltown airfield will be used.
Out of hours flying has been authorised and noise disturbance may be experienced in some locations.
The ground element of the exercise will be made up of NATO troops, approximately 500 personnel, who will deploy in conjunction with helicopter operations. Troops will carry weapons and blank ammunition.
“All personnel involved with the exercise will be briefed on the requirement to avoid disturbance to livestock and damage to property together with the procedures for reporting incidents and complaints,” said a spokesperson.
