Kevin McKidd sorry for 'Rough' remark

HOLLYWOOD star Kevin McKidd has apologised to anyone offended when he referred to the area of Elgin he grew up in as "rough".

McKidd used the term to describe his early years in Bishopmill.

The comment came in a promotional video for the box set of the new Disney movie "Brave". Set in Scotland, the animation movie features two characters voiced by McKidd.

Speaking on his Twitter account @TheRealKMcKidd, he said: "To those who were upset at my comment about Bishopmill being rough, many apologies - I meant some of the kids I knocked about with then were.

"Bishopmill is my home turf and I love it! I was getting into trouble as a wee boy a bit though and doing theatre really sorted me out."

McKidd has gone on to great fame and is currently starring in the hit US drama "Grey's Anatomy".
