THE Lady Laird of Ballindalloch Castle has released a follow-up to her successful ‘I Love Food’ cookery book.

Full of recipes, photographs, poems, sayings and ‘quirky bits’, the feast of sophisticated Speyside culinary know-how from Clare Macpherson-Grant Russell has been crafted to be equally at home on the kitchen table as on the coffee table.

Mrs Russell, the Lord Lieutenant of Banffshire, never intended to write a follow-up to her first outing, now in its eighth year and still selling strongly.

However, prompted by requests asking for a further taste, she created ‘I Love Food 2’, a second helping of recipes reflecting her love of food, family and the Speyside surroundings she adores.

The motto remains ‘taste, ease and speed’. “I love food, but I am not prepared to spend hours slaving over a cooker,” said Mrs Russell. The recipes are designed to achieve exactly that – mouth-watering results with the minimum of time and effort.

‘I Love Food 2’ is billed as a ‘different, fun, informative, entertaining and, above all, practical cookbook for busy modern lives’. Mrs Russell said: “I do hope that you will enjoy reading this book as much as I have enjoyed writing it, and that your motto, too, will become ‘simply elegant’.”

There will be book signings at Johnstons of Elgin on November 8, and at Brodie Countryfare between noon and 3pm on Sunday, November 18, when Mrs Russell will be delighted to sign your copy of ‘I Love Food 2’ and have a chat.
