PROTESTERS opposed to the closure of seven libraries in Moray will deliver their message to councillors.
Community groups fighting to retain their local library are set to descend on Elgin Libray tonight.
They will stage a protest on the opening night of the Spirit of Moray Book Festival.
Last week Moray Council voted 13-10 to close seven of its 15 libraries, despite an Equalities Impact Assessment which recommended closing only four libraries.
People in Burghead, Cullen and Dufftown believed their libraries were to earn a reprieve.
However, despite the risk of a legal challenge if they voted to close all seven libraries, the Independent-Tory administration on Moray Council pressed ahead with the move.
Campaigners from across Moray are set to voice their objections before the start of the festival tonight.
For pictures from the protest see ‘The Northern Scot’ online tomorrow and the print version on Friday.
