A BID for an Interim Interdict to halt the planned closure of seven libraries and one mobile library in Moray has been launched.
Members of the Save our Libraries Moray campaign are behind the move following a detailed review of the opinion the campaign received from Counsel.
With no indication from the Moray Council administration that they would review their closure decision, set for the end of this month, the campaign group has taken a final decisio to seek a judicial review.
Hopeman campaigner Vivien Hendry, a member of the Save Our Libraries Moray management committee, has applied for Legal Aid on behalf of the group in a bid to take the case to the Court of Session.
Ms Hendry is expected to explain why she feels this action is vital for the protection of local libraries at a press conference later today.
