Man critical after HGV collision in Elgin

police scotland logoA PEDESTRIAN is in a critical condition after being hit by a lorry on Elgin’s West Road.

Police Scotland and members of other emergency services were called to the scene at around 12.30pm on Saturday.

The 54-year-old man was initially taken for treatment at Dr Gray’s Hospital in the town, but was transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary because of the severity of his injuries.

West Road is part of the A96 Aberdeen to Inverness trunk road which runs through the town.
