A MAN has died while diving off the Moray coast.
Emergency services were called to waters off Findochty just before 1pm on Sunday.
The 38-year-old had been diving with colleagues when he got into difficulties.
In a statement, police said: "Despite the efforts of other divers and rescue crews the diver sadly died.
"Officers from Police Scotland are investigating the circumstances of the man’s death and as is normal a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
The Coastguard team from Buckie, the RNLI Lifeboat, a RAF Search and Rescue helicopter and the Scottish Ambulance Service were involved in the rescue attempt.
