Police confirm a man has died after a road collision in Aberlour.
Police confirm a man has died after a road collision in Aberlour.

POLICE have named an elderly motorist who died after his car collided with a parked vehicle in Aberlour.

Anthony Collins (71) was pronouned dead at the scene of yesterday's collision, which happened at about 11.40am on Queen's Road.

Mr Collins' silver Subaru Impreza crashed into a car before colliding with the front of an articulated lorry, which was making deliveries to a nearby store. No-one else injured and the road was closed for about five hours as accident investigations were carried out.

Grampian Police have now appealed for witnesses.  

Inspector Scott Mann of the Grampian Road Policing Department said: "Our enquiries are progressing well and our collision investigators have carried out a detailed scene examination.
 
"We would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or its immediate aftermath, or indeed anyone who saw a silver car being driven on Queens Road around the time of the collision. We're aware that there were several pedestrians in the vicinity at that time."
