HIGH-RISK pupils and staff at a Moray secondary have been sent home after a student was found to have measles.
Buckie High took the precautionary step at lunchtime today after the diagnosis was confirmed by NHS Grampian.
Pupils, staff and visitors who may be at risk as a result of either not being immunised or not having measles themselves are in the process of being identified and their details passed on to the health authority.
A parents’ evening due to take place tonight has been postponed.
Moray Council is taking advice from the health authority and it is understood the school will remain open for most pupils and staff tomorrow (Thursday, November 22). However, parents are advised to check the school's information line for any changes, with an update expected before 7am.
Pupils are being issued with letters detailing the symptoms to look out for and what parents should do if they have any concerns about their child’s health.
