Moray Council's roads team has won a national award for its snow-clearing.
MORAY Council has been named as the UK’s best performer when it comes to clearing roads of snow and ice.

The local authority’s roads department has been identified as being the best in ‘highways and winter maintenance’ by a national charity that monitors council services.

The award was presented by the Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE), a not-for-profit organisation that works with more than 300 local authorities across the UK to determine how well they are implementing front-line services.

Moray was voted the best from eight other finalists in the category, which included the Argyll and Bute, Hull City, Hartlepool and Midlothian councils.
