MIA Buchan and her friends danced their way to a boost for Moray Friends of ARCHIE.
Mia (6) and brother Louie (2) have been regular patients of the children’s ward at Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin.
Louie was very poorly with a skin infection at the age of six months and Mia undergoes regular blood testing and treatment for her eczema and other skin problems.
She is on a restricted diet and regular regime of creams and ointments.
However, that doesn’t stop the youngster enjoying life.
One of her favourite hobbies is dancing and she is a member of the Ruth Rollo Theatre School of Dance in Elgin.
The children gave a presentation to parents earlier in the year and a collection raised £95 for the charity appeal to raise £100,000 for the children’s ward.
Her mum Elaine said: "The staff at Dr Gray’s were so nice and helpful to us; they couldn’t have done any more."
Elaine and husband Graham are indebted for the support of the children’s ward and other staff at the hospital.
Ruth Rollo has been dancing for over 40 years and was a professional dancer with the White Heather Club before setting up a dance school in Arbroath.
For the last 25 years she has taught dance in Elgin and the school now meets at the Williamson Hall.
n See ‘The Northern Scot’ next week for details of another boost to the campaign from an Elgin store.
You can find out more about the appeal at www.northern-scot.co.uk or on the Moray Friends of ARCHIE Facebook page.
