VOTERS have made their decision on who will be the winner in the Heldon and Laich by-election.
Polls closed at 10pm on Thursday night with the count taking place today (Friday) in Lossiemouth Town Hall.
Six candidates have contested the seat that was vacated by the SNP’s Carolle Ralph, who stood down following a hate-mail campaign.
They are Pete Bloomfield, Conservative; John Cowe, Independent; Stuart Crowther, SNP, Jeff Hamilton, Independent; James MacKessack-Leitch, Scottish Green Party and Nick Traynor, Independent.
The result is expected to be announced at around lunchtime today.
