A MORAY cat charity says it is in "urgent need" of volunteers who can look after felines until they are found a permanent home.
The Cats Protection’s Moray branch said it is looking to recruit temporary fosterers to help care for unwanted and abandoned cats while they wait to find a new owner.
"Cat fosterers play a vital role in our charity by caring for cats in their own home until a new owner can be found," said Sharyn Cameron, the branch publicity officer.
"No special equipment is needed but cat fosterers do need to have a spare room and, of course, a love of cats is a must. The charity will provide plenty of assistance and support materials for all fosterers.
"Offering a temporary home to a cat in need can be an incredibly rewarding experience, and becoming a volunteer for Cats Protection is a great way to meet new friends – both human and feline!"
Ms Cameron said anyone interested in contacting the Moray branch, which is run entirely by volunteers, should phone 07837 342646.
The group currently has 10 cats and kittens in its care, which are awaiting new owners.
