A SURVEY which will play a major role in shaping future sport and leisure provision in Moray is live.
Residents are urged to have a say on the area’s swimming pools, fitness rooms, community centres, sports pitches, and town halls.
The questionnaire forms part of a review of facilities which launched in November and strives to make savings while maintaining appropriate provision. A closing date for the survey – which can be accessed at www.moray.gov.uk/futureleisure/survey – has been set for February 2.
Hard copies can be obtained by calling 01343 563395 and are also available at sport and leisure facilities across Moray.
Results will be analysed and pulled together alongside other national, regional and local data in a report to the cross-party area based review group. By the end of February, it is anticipated an initial list of options, including maintaining the status quo, will be drawn up and made available for comment. In March, preferred options will be identified.
Information on the review is available at www.moray.gov.uk/futureleisure and a generic e-mail address – firstname.lastname@example.org – had been set up to receive comments, inquiries and suggestions. For those without e-mail access, letters should be addressed to Review of Sport, Leisure and Recreation, Education and Social Care, Moray Council, High Street, Elgin IV30 1BX.
