A MORAY woman has added an extraordinary twist to the phrase ‘charity begins at home’.
She is selling hers, as well as all of her belongings, to build a community hospital 4,500 miles away for those lacking the most basic medical care.
“People think I’m totally bonkers, and maybe I am,” said Kathryn McIntosh, of New Elgin, who is left with just two suitcases and a box of belongings.
“The only piece of furniture I have now is my bed, which the lady who is moving into my house has bought as well. I really own nothing now."
