NAT Fraser is due to appear in court again today.
Twice convicted of plotting the murder of his wife Arlene, Fraser's legal team will make their pleas in his latest appeal.
A hearig at the High Court of Criminal Appeal in Edinburgh will take place.
Fraser was convicted last year year of hiring a hitman to kill his wife Arlene (33) in April 1998.
The former fruit and veg businessman had originally been convicted of the murder in 2003 and sentenced to 25 years.
However, that conviction was quashed by the UK Supreme Court and a re-trial ordered.
Fraser was convicted for a second time and ordered to serve 17 years behind bars.
However, his legal team claim the trial was prejudiced after a witness mentioned in evidence that Fraser had spent time in prison for assaulting his wife.
