Police continue inquiries into Elgin man's death

Grampian Police are continuing to make inquiries into the death of Elgin man Steven Eddie.

Mr Eddie (40) was found dead inside his home on North Street, New Elgin, shortly after 6pm last Monday (February 6).

Since then, a police spokesman said today, officers have been conducting a "thorough investigation" into the circumstances.

He said: "The cause of the death is not known at this time and officers are treating it as unexplained whilst further inquiries are conducted."

The spokesman said officers have visited a number of addresses in the New Elgin area in an attempt to piece together Mr Eddie’s final movements.

The inquiry team is particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen Mr Eddie since the beginning of February, he added.

Anyone who may have seen Mr Eddie in the period leading up to last Monday should contact Grampian Police on 0845 600 5 700 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
