The River Spey, where the body of an elderly man has been found.
POLICE have confirmed that the body of an elderly man has been found in the River Spey.
The discovery was made this afternoon (Tuesday), near Fochabers.
It follows an extensive search for William Robb (75), from the Aberdeen area. Mr Robb was reported missing on Sunday, near Fochabers, while walking on the Speyside Way.
A police spokesman said: "Enquiries are ongoing to identify the man and establish the circumstances surrounding the death.
"No name will be released until full identification has taken place and next of kin have been informed.
"As is usual in such circumstances, a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
