Police in Moray are launching a campaign urging people to belt-up.
The Seatbelt/Country Roads Campaign will run from today (Tuesday) until Friday, and will see officers target drivers and passengers who are not wearing seatbelts.
There will also be a focus on speeding drivers.
Leslie Harrold, the road safety manager with Road Safety Grampian, said: "Despite seatbelt legislation being in force for nearly 30 years, there is still a small minority of drivers and passengers who choose do not wear their seatbelt.
"Apart from it being illegal, it is very dangerous.
"It is quite simple - in a road collision, a properly worn seatbelt will greatly increase your chances of surviving the collision and reduce the severity of the injuries you will suffer."
