SEAGULL attacks on posties have prompted the Royal Mail to stop all deliveries on a Moray street, in a move that has angered and baffled residents who say they are not being targeted by the dive-bombing birds.
More than 20 homes on Muirfield Road, New Elgin, have been affected by the decision, taken a week ago, to postpone deliveries until further notice.
However, with many on the street either elderly or housebound, some have been unable to collect their mail from the Post Office’s collection office, on Elgin’s High Street.
The Royal Mail wrote last Saturday to residents, who all live on the same section of the street, telling them that delivery people had been "attacked" while attempting to deliver mail there.
