MORAY is set for a retail jobs boost with the opening of a new store in Elgin which will create up to 40 new jobs.
Home Bargains is investing £500,000 in a new branch at the Elgin Retail Park on Edgar Road.
The company is one of the UK’s fastest growing discount retailers.
The new store will open to the public next Saturday, August 4.
This will be the first Home Bargains store to open in the Moray area, joining more than 25 existing units across Scotland.
The opening of the new store comes hard on the heels of a recent announcement of up to 35 new jobs in Elgin with a new Domino’s Pizza outlet set to open in the town later in the year.
Joe Morris, operations director at Home Bargains, said: "Home Bargains is excited to be opening yet another store in Scotland, and we look forward to welcoming new customers."
He added: "Elgin Retail Park will be a great location for us – we are thrilled to be in a position to offer local people top branded goods at exceptionally low prices."
