MESSAGES of love and support from an entire school have boosted the cancer fight of a Moray teenager.
Dion Yates (15) faces a long road back to health after being diagnosed with the rare bone cancer, Ewing’s Sarcoma.
The Lossiemouth High School pupil is currently undergoing chemotherapy at a specialist cancer unit in Newcastle Royal Victoria Infirmary.
However, her battle is being made more bearable thanks to classmates and staff at Lossie High rallying behind her.
Big sister Jacy (17), also a pupil at Lossiemouth High, is spearheading a fund-raising drive through the school for the Teenage Cancer Trust, which is providing support to Dion and the family.
“You can’t be sad because she isn’t,” added Jacy, “and is coping with it so well. You can’t dwell on it.”
Jacy has thrown herself into fund-raising, with the support of Dion’s guidance teacher, Debbie Russell.
You can support the school’s fundraising for Dion directly through Lossiemouth High or online at www.justgiving.co.uk/doitfordion
