POLICE are appealing for information following the theft of a scooter from Elgin.
The vehicle was taken from Robertson Drive some time between 9pm on Saturday, August 2 and 6.40am the following day.
It was later recovered in the Lhanbryde area on Sunday, August 3.
Constable Paul Thompson of the Fochabers local policing team, said: "I would advise owners of powered two wheelers to ensure they secure their machine to an immovable object using a good quality chain and lock, and would particularly recommend the use of a disc lock on the machine’s brake disc."
He added: "Not only is it a despicable act to steal someone else’s property, but can also be dangerous to both the thief and other road users as thieves seldom use protective equipment and clothing and their standard of riding often falls well below what would be expected of a normal person."
Anyone with information should call Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
