A YOUNG woman has been the victim of a sexual assault in Elgin.
Grampian Police are investigating an incident which occurred in the town’s Cooper Park in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The 20-year-old woman was attacked by a man described as slim build, with a moustache and he was wearing a dark coloured hooded top.
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with any information regarding the incident to contact Elgin CID on the Grampian Police non emergency 101 number or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
An area close to the skateboard park was cordoned off following the attack and a police van was at the scene throughout Sunday.
This latest incident comes just weeks after a teenage girl was the victim of an attempted mugging in the Cooper Park, close to Elgin Cathedral.
