Spate of thefts in Elgin

MOTORISTS have been warned to be vigilant after a spate of thefts from vehicles in Elgin’s west end.

Police Scotland is advising drivers to make sure their cars are secure following incidents in streets including Fleurs Place, Bruceland Road and Conan Crescent.

A variety of items have been taken including a laptop, cash and satellite navigation systems.

Inspector Gordon McDonald, the Moray capital’s community policing unit, said: "We’ve had several incidents of thefts from motor cars in the west end of Elgin, many of which were insecure, over the last two weeks and we would like to remind owners to secure their vehicles.

"I would also ask that all residents remove any valuable property from their vehicles."

He asked for anyone with knowledge of the incidents to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
