WORLD War I medals which were among stolen property recovered by Grampian Police have been returned to their owner.
An appeal was sounded earlier this month after the distinctive items were found while police made enquiries into offences committed in the Moray, Aberdeen and Northern Constabulary areas.
The medals have now been returned to the family of the original owner, Elsie Menzies, who was born in Craigellachie in June, 1894.
Constable Kate Barnett, from the Moray support team, said: "I am very pleased to report that, with the assistance of the media and the public, we have tracked down the owner of these two medals, who lives in the Lossiemouth area."
