Wall of Rock festival to get underway

The crowds came out in force for last year's Wall of Rock, and organisers are hoping for more of the same in 2012.

SOME of Moray’s top bands and musicians will hit Lossiemouth today (Friday) and tomorrow for the town’s third annual Wall of Rock festival.

More than 25 acts have been confirmed to perform over the two days, with gates opening at 5pm today and at 12.30pm tomorrow.

A Main Stage today will be joined by an acoustic and family stage tomorrow, with other entertainment.

The event raises money for Lossiemouth High School and the town’s youth cafe, and organisers are hoping that people of all ages will turn out in their thousands.

The Wall of Rock is being staged at Station Park, off Pitgaveny Street, close to the east beach.

Headlining tonight, starting at 10pm, will be Lossiemouth band 'Peruvia' while 'Be Like Pablo' from Forres will do likewise tomorrow night.

For the full line-up of bands, musicians and the times they will be playing, see this week's 'Northern Scot'
