ELGIN City could have a cash boost in the can.

Their supporters have so far collected the third highest total of Irn Bru cans and could be in line for a cash boost for youth development between £5,000 and £10,000.

The final results are due to be announced next Wednesday.

'SOUL destroying' was how Ross Jack described Elgin City's last minute play-off defeat against Albion Rovers on Saturday. A deflected 89th minute winner took the Coatbridge side into the Division 2 play-off final at Elgin's expense. Rovers' 2-0 win left a number of shattered Elgin players on their knees at the full time whistle, and manager Jack admitted it has been a tough experience for his team.

BUCKIE Thistle have ended the season with a trophy in the cabinet. The Jags won the Breedon Aggregates Highland League Cup with a 2-0 win over Cove Rangers at Princess Royal Park, Banff.
